Want to set up an e-commerce site but don't have any/much experience in the web? It took me about 2 yrs or so before I came across ZEN CART. OMG!! I began tinkering with microsoft frontpage and couldn't seem to 'marry' things up. This is your answer. Well, there are other free open-software e-commerce carts out there but this one I know, still learning but I've certainly got a good grasp on it now and if you just want a simple shop, simple admin panel to add products, prices etc then I urge you to try them.

They offer free tutorials in all web development technologies. You can learn as little or as much as you like. If you really get into it, you can opt to take an exam in one of the subjects and get certified. (This is one of my goals this year. I wish to be able to offer my services as a programmer in specific areas only) I love to have something to strive for and even though I am nearly 34, for me this is a lifetime vocation!

HOSTING: There are so many choices out there and believe me, I have tried 1to1 and SBI ... I have spent some money over the years, thinking this was it, the right one etc etc. Nah... 1to1 I found very difficult to use their control panel and sitebuilder plus, when I had to ring through for help it took a while and then I got an advisor that I felt wasn't particuarly helpful. Then, you may have seen a lot of advertising websites for SBI.. Site Build It... it's about £300 a year and though you do get a lot of useful information and stuff like that, I have come to learn that just by purely spending some time researching on the web about SEO, Marketing and Advertising and all the things required for getting your site noticed, can be self-learned for FREE! 

I am signed up with Just Host and if you spend 5 minutes having a look at their site, I think you will agree they are a top choice. I can honestly say that I have needed their help several times, when I have messed up my Zen Cart files especially, they have ALWAYS, ALWAYS sorted out my problems and within a very good timeframe. I will NOT go to another hosting company now or ever because I am getting the service I need and expect PLUS, they are not expensive, you get free credits for google and other ads etc plus lots of help on-line .. seriously, take a look before you go signing up with any other host please. You will be glad you did I promise.
